About Us

Choice Senior Home Care is a family owned company based on the belief that our customer’s needs are of the utmost importance. Our team is committed to meeting those needs.  As a result, a high percentage of our business is from referrals.  We welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver the best care and support for you and your loved one.

 Kimberly Timm-McQuarrie, Director

I started this business many years ago with my oldest daughter. It is important to me to give our client’s and their families a trusted option to stay in their home. While family helped both day and night for many years, their needs became too much to manage. We needed help for our grandparents while the family was at work and school. Home care wasn’t available. I don’t think it was in our vocabulary then.

My grandparents were hardworking and generous. They farmed 180 acres in Northern Michigan. After Sunday meals, I played with cousins in the barns and orchards while adults packaged fruits, vegetables and eggs for each family. No one left their home empty handed. Their home is where I learned to can, to make jams and sauces, and to package fresh meats, absolutely my least favorite activity. I still love to pick berries in the summer and make applesauce and jams for my family.

It was no surprise they wanted to stay in their home, and it was important to their children to support their decision. As years passed, they leased the land to neighboring farms, and family helped with the garden, the house, errands, appointments, and finances.

As a young adult, my grandparent’s suffered from dementia.  Today, grandpa would have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. As my grandpa’s disease progressed, grandma needed help caring for him overnight because he was up so much. Family took shifts. Eventually, they needed day time care as grandma’s mental and physical state drastically declined. I believe grandma suffered from vascular dementia. Grandpa moved to a nursing home where he lived the next 7 years without my grandma. We never heard of home care. In retrospect, home care would have allowed my grandparents to stay together, and home care would have been a wonderful support to us.

I started Choice Senior Home Care to offer senior’s great in home care. I want your family to have a trusted, compassionate option my family did not.

Stacey Frisinger, MSW, Clinical Director

I first began working in the home health field while in graduate school at University of Michigan School of Social Work.  I am a former Clinical Director of a 400 bed residential facility.  As Clinical Director, I supervised a staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, internist, dentist and hygienist.   I also worked as an outpatient therapist and researcher for University of Michigan Departments of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Social Work.  I now enjoy working with clients and their families.  I find it so enriching to learn about each client’s unique experiences and history.

My graduate school mentor told me, “You don’t have to do something different to be successful, you just have to do it better.”  Better is what I strive to do each day.  I want to provide better home care to care to seniors.  I want to hire and train better staff.  I want to provide better supervision and brainstroming to our staff.  I want to offer better support to family members.

“The caregivers at Choice Senior Home Care have been helping our disabled daughter live on her own for the past year. Their staff is very professional, compassionate, and efficient. The breadth of services runs from assistance with personal hygiene to tasks involving household administration. It gives me peace of mind to know that we can depend on them to be there as scheduled and are available for the occasional unscheduled requested visit.” – Robert K

“Stacey and the caregiving team at Choice Senior Home Care provided outstanding care while my mother-in-law was very ill and receiving hospice services in our home. Their kindness and professionalism helped to make things easier during a very difficult time. I have recommended them to friends and plan to ask them for their help again this summer when my father visits for a few weeks. We have had experience with other caregiving services in the past and Choice Senior Home Care is in a league of its own with respect to quality, compassion, and professionalism. I would highly recommend Stacey and her agency to anyone who is looking for help taking care of their loved ones at home.” – Lisa P.
